FC Schalke 04 is intensively working to strengthen its squad for the upcoming season in the 2. Bundesliga. According to reports, sporting director Frank Baumann has set his sights on Junior Dina Ebimbe from Eintracht Frankfurt. The 25-year-old midfielder, who has been under contract with Frankfurt since 2022, could be a valuable addition to the Royal Blues' offense. Ebimbe, who previously came from Paris Saint-Germain, had a loan spell at Stade Brest last season, where he scored five goals in 27 appearances.

Negotiations between FC Schalke 04 and Eintracht Frankfurt are already underway, but there are still differences in the financial evaluation. Schalke wants to pay a transfer fee of around one million euros, while Frankfurt is asking for double that amount. These negotiations could be crucial, as Ebimbe is currently not considered in the plans of the Eagles and is only contracted until 2027.

Ebimbe would be the third external signing for FC Schalke 04 this summer, following the acquisitions of Satoshi Tanaka from Fortuna Düsseldorf and Junior Adamu from SC Freiburg. In addition to new signings, the club is also working to retain key players from last season. Goalkeeper Loris Karius has already extended his contract until 2028.

Another topic concerning Schalke is the future of Edin Dzeko. The Bosnian forward has announced that he will make his decision about his career only after the World Cup. Retirement is also a possibility, which means FC Schalke 04 must be well-prepared to respond to all eventualities.
