FC Schalke 04, Hamburg SV, FC Augsburg and Werder Bremen will face each other on the pitch in the upcoming Bundesliga season. Before that, there could be a competition between the clubs on the transfer market. According to Bild, the Bundesliga quartet is interested in Eintracht Frankfurt's Elias Baum. For the 20-year-old right-back (contract until 2028), three to five million euros would be needed. Baum only played in five Bundesliga games for Eintracht Frankfurt last season. In 2024/25, the defender played on loan for SV Elversberg. Hamburg SV sees Baum as a potential reinforcement. With FC Schalke 04, FC Augsburg and SV Werder Bremen, other Bundesliga clubs are also looking at the Frankfurt U21 international. Eintracht Frankfurt is already facing a major overhaul this summer after a disappointing season. With Adi Hütter, a new (old) coach has already been found. Now, sports director Markus Krösche is focusing on team planning. "There will be movement. I have spoken very transparently with Adi about the current situation. This also includes that we as a club need to generate transfer income. This is part of our way. How exactly this will look, we will then see", announced the SGE functionary last. According to Bild, Eintracht Frankfurt needs a transfer surplus of around 50 million euros after missing out on international business this summer. A Baum sale could at least bring in a small part of the desired amount.
