FC Schalke 04 are under pressure: their dream transfer of Dina Ebimbe is at risk of collapsing, with the Royal Blues offering around one million euros. But Eintracht Frankfurt is demanding roughly double that figure – and now a Premier League newcomer has entered the race.
Why the move matters for Schalke
Dina Ebimbe is a top target for S04 bosses led by sporting director Frank Baumann. The 25-year-old midfielder can play centrally or on the right wing, bringing the versatility Schalke needs this transfer window. The Frenchman has reportedly agreed terms with the Royal Blues, but negotiations with Eintracht Frankfurt remain stuck. Both clubs are far apart on the transfer fee: Schalke is offering about one million euros, while Frankfurt demands around two million.
Hull City enters the fray
Now a new player has entered the market. Premier League newcomer Hull City has reportedly contacted Ebimbe, according to Bild. A move to England could be more attractive for the midfielder not just on the pitch, but financially too. While the transfer fee would be higher, Schalke still hopes Ebimbe will prefer Gelsenkirchen. The Frenchman is said to be waiting a few more days for a deal between Schalke and Frankfurt before considering alternatives.
Other names on Schalke’s radar
Schalke is pushing ahead with its recruitment plans. Alongside Ebimbe, Robin Gosens and Jesper Lindstrøm are also linked with the Royal Blues. Gosens, formerly of Union Berlin, could bolster the defensive line as an experienced full-back. Lindstrøm, currently at Lyon, would add attacking options. Both names show how active S04’s leadership is in strengthening the squad ahead of the new season.
The Royal Blues sit top of the 2. Bundesliga with 70 points from 34 games and lead the table by eight points over SV Elversberg. Their last match ended 1-0 against Eintracht Braunschweig on 17 May 2026, and the side is on a two-game winning streak.
