FC Schalke 04 is reportedly working on the most expensive transfer in years. According to transfer expert Ekrem Konur at X, the Royal Blues are preparing an offer for Felix Uduokhai from Besiktas. The 28-year-old former Bundesliga player is expected to cost around five million euros, Uduokhai, who played in the German top flight for VfL Wolfsburg and FC Augsburg, signed with Besiktas last summer. The FCA also received five million euros for the 1.93-meter-tall center-back, who can also play on the left side of defense and as a six. Uduokhai was once even in the orbit of the German national team. In 2020, he was nominated for a three-game series against Czech Republic (1:0), Ukraine (3:1) and Spain (0:6) by then-national coach Joachim Löw, but did not play. For Schalke, his signing would be a real coup. Whether the financially struggling Knappen will really spend so much money on a defender remains to be seen. ## More on this: ## FC Schalke 04: First Dzeko, then Uduokhai? The S04 sports director Frank Baumann and Co. did not shy away from big names in the past. Notably, the signing of striker Edin Dzeko from AC Florence in the winter was impressive. However, no transfer fee was paid for the 40-year-old. Currently, Schalke is reportedly looking for reinforcements in the attack. "Fussball Europa" brought Tawfik Bentayeb from the Moroccan club Union Touarga into the conversation. Schalke is also reportedly bidding for the striker with a five-million-euro offer. However, Bentayeb's employer is demanding at least six million euros and a resale participation. There are also significant financial demands from the player side.
