FC Schalke 04 has extended the contract of Loris Karius ahead of schedule. The 32-year-old goalkeeper will remain with the Royal Blues until June 30, 2028. Karius was a key player for Schalke during their promotion to the Bundesliga. He conceded 31 goals in last season's 2. Bundesliga campaign and was the best goalkeeper in the league. In total, he made 30 appearances and kept 13 clean sheets during that run of games. "With his consistently strong performances, Loris has made a significant contribution to the team's success as a reliable last line of defense. The team can depend on him. Especially in close games, he has repeatedly made the difference with crucial saves and secured important points," said Youri Mulder, Schalke's director of professional football.
